Is your guillotine blade blunt? Not cutting through paper very well? It may be time to change your guillotine blade. We have helpful steps to follow:
Step 1 – Remove the guillotine blade:
It is important that removing the blade is done by someone who is trained to do this and knows how to change the blade with the blade changing tools safely so no accidents can happen. If you are local to us on the Wirral, Chester, Liverpool, Manchester, North Wales, Cheshire and Merseyside we can remove your blade for you.
When the blade is out of the paper guillotine it must immediately go in the secure blade carrier.
If you have a spare blade, now is the time to put this in, again this should be carried out by someone who is trained and using the safety of the blade changing tool kit.
Step 2 – Send the guillotine blade
Your guillotine blade must be safely packaged in a blade carrier and then if you contact our team we will need a purchase order number and will know to expect your guillotine blade.
Step 3 – We sharpen your guillotine blade:
We will double check that your blade has enough length in it to be sharpened and fit back in your machine (guillotibe blades can only be sharpened a few times before they won’t fit back in your machine). We advise that it will take approx 3 weeks to get your blade sharpened – we may be able to reduce this time if you phone us in advance and let us know you need it urgently. (This is usually the case if you don’t have a spare blade).
Step 4 – We send your blade back to you:
We will post your blade back to you (or if you are local we can store it until you need your blade changing again). You can then safely fit this again (a trained member of staff must do this) or store it until you need to change your current blade again.
Step 5 – What are the costs:
You will wanting to know how much this costs so here is a break down of our costs:

If you post your guillotine blade to us, we check the blade length, sharpen and return postage is £35 + VAT.

If you want us to attend your premises and vchange the blade, prices start at £50 + VAT. This pricing depends on distance we have to travel and if you want servicing and health and safety checks at the same time.
