If you are looking for a new shredder there are a few important things to consider!

Shredding Cut Size

This is probably your most important element to consider. The cut size of a shredder ranges from P3 (big pieces of paper) to P7 (tiny pieces of paper) and ALWAYS make sure you are using a cross cut shredder as a minimum as this is important for your paper security. For most people, we would recommend a P5 security cut size.

This shredder has a high security cut size as the pieces are very small.

Bin Capacity Size:

Depending on the size of space you have for the shredder and how often you want to be emptying your shredding bin, this determines your waste capacity. Each shredder has it’s own waste capacity measurements so look at this when choosing your shredder!

Shredding Capacity

How many pieces of paper go through at one time may be important to you if you have a lot of shredding on a daily basis to get through. The higher and more secure cut size you go for, the less capacity your shredder will take. We would advise not compromising on paper security level for a shredder with a higher capacity!

This shredder has a hopper on top and so therefore has a high shredding capacity.

Self Oiling?

Shredders should be oiled regularly to keep them in god working order. Many shredders do now come with the option of a self-oiling mechanism attached to it so you don’t have to worry about manually oiling your shredder.

Price

Price is an important factor and there are a range of prices starting from £15 to £1500+ for a shredder! It really depends on all of the above and how robust and reliable you want your shredder to be. All our shredders are made with steel cutting heads and are known for their reliability and high-capacity without over-heating which are all important elements for a good shredder.
